Year 9

Year 7 and 8 Year 10 and 11

A Personalised Curriculum

In Year 9 form groups remain House based, while teaching groups become more subject dependent as your child embarks on a personalised curriculum.

Your child will study thirteen subjects including the core English, Mathematics, three sciences and a language. They will be able to choose additional subjects from within the humanities, creative and performing arts, languages and technology. These will all be continued for the duration of Year 9 before refining their subjects down to the 10 subjects they will take for their GCSE years. Full details of the options are available in the Year 9 Curriculum Choices booklet which is issues to Year 8 pupils in the Spring term.

In addition to their subject choices, Wellbeing, PE and Games will remain on your child's timetable in Year 9.
