A Warm and Welcoming Start to the Day
The school day begins at 8:30am, but for early arrivals, our Breakfast Club runs from 7:45am to 8:00am in the Infant Kitchen. Children can enjoy a relaxed and sociable start to their morning with a selection of drinks, cereals, and toast before heading to their classrooms.
Morning Learning and Play
Lessons start promptly at 8:30am, with engaging and interactive learning led by our experienced teachers. A 20-minute morning break gives children time to enjoy a snack, play outside, and recharge for the rest of the morning’s activities.
Lunchtime in the Great Hall
Lunch is served between 11:45am and 12:40pm in the Great Hall, where children can choose from a variety of nutritious hot meals (lunch menus are shared in the weekly newsletter). Special dietary requirements are catered for, ensuring every child enjoys a healthy, balanced meal. Occasionally, lunch may take place at Failand, offering an exciting change of scenery.
Afternoon Learning and Activities
Afternoon lessons begin at 12:45pm, continuing the day’s exciting and enriching curriculum. The school day officially ends at 3:15pm for Reception and 3:30pm for Years 1 and 2, with collection by 3:45pm.
Wraparound Care: Stay & Play and After-School Clubs
For families needing an extended school day, we offer Stay & Play after-school care from 3:45pm to 5:45pm. This is run in the Year 2 building by a club leader, supported by Teaching Assistants, ensuring children remain in a familiar and comfortable setting. Whether playing, relaxing, or engaging in structured activities, children enjoy their time in a warm, welcoming environment. Places must be booked at least 24 hours in advance (this can be done online) and can be arranged regularly or on an ad-hoc basis. Charges are added to your termly bill and we also accept childcare vouchers for this service.
Additionally, teachers run a variety of after-school clubs, typically lasting 45 minutes, giving children the chance to explore new hobbies and spend extra time with friends in a fun and stimulating setting.
