Supporting Every Child’s Academic and Emotional Growth

At BGS, we are committed to ensuring that every child receives the support they need to reach their full potential.

Our inclusive approach recognises and caters for a wide range of learning needs, creating a positive environment of care, respect, and encouragement. We make reasonable adjustments to support all pupils with specific learning requirements, ensuring they thrive both academically and personally.

Support is initially provided within the classroom, with Form Teachers closely monitoring progress and engaging with parents and carers to discuss any concerns. If additional support is needed, our Learning Support Coordinator, Mrs Lucy Hargreave, will work closely with families to identify the best approach for each child. Mrs Hargreave is always available to offer guidance, support, and tailored recommendations.

Beyond academic support, we also prioritise the emotional and social well-being of our pupils. Our specially trained Emotional Literacy Support Assistants (ELSA) provide dedicated support to help children navigate their emotions, build resilience, and develop essential social skills. This ensures that every child at BGS is not only achieving academically but also feeling happy, confident, and fully engaged in school life.
